Jerusalem’s Desolation Foretold

Ezekiel 5:1

And thou, son of man, take thee a sharp knife, take thee a barber’s razor, and cause it to pass upon thine head and upon thy beard: then take thee balances to weigh, and divide the hair.

Breakdown

Ezekiel's hair represents the nation of Israel: A third will be killed with the sword, a third is going to be burned down and the last third will be scattered. This verse cannot be used to justify trimming beards or lining up your face (Leviticus 19:27, Ezekiel 44:20)
