Satan Bound

Revelation 20:1

And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

Breakdown

angel Septimius Severus, circa 193 AD. Septimius Severus literally means cutter of the seven - the seven being Esau's power structure, beginning with the Greeks and then Romans, etc. Another notable name is Marcus Aurelius. bottomless pit Europe. great chain in his hand Slavery.

laid hold The Israelites put the Edomites in subjection. dragon Pagan Roman Empire. a thousand years The one thousand year period starting around the reign of Constantine the Great (circa 325AD). During this period of time, the Edomites were enslaved under Israel

The apostles that were put to death 2000 years ago. had not worshipped the beast The Apostles didn't follow the Roman system in their lives before. neither had received his mark The elect will not take the chip. The image represents the image of the Roman Empire e.g. its laws, legislation, architecture, etc (1 Maccabees 8:13-16). The Roman Empire has been reincarnated today as America.

Referring to the same period of time as in the third verse. Satan was loosed out of his prison at the time of the Renaissance.

Esau has deceived the whole world with his philosophies. Gog and Magog Russia because they inhabit what used to be the land of Gog and Magog.
