Genesis 2:4

¶ These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

This is the first occurrence of the LORD's name, Yahawah, in the Bible. generations is not talking about genealogies (angels do not have sex, Matthew 22:30), but the record of what the Yahawashi (Jesus) and the angels did (Hebrews 1:2, Colossians 1:16). The LORD God ultimately gets all of the credit, thus why it says here that he made the earth and the heavens (e.g. how King Solomon got the credit for building the House of God when it was his servants).

dust is two-fold. It is referring to literal dust (because all of the elements found in man can be found in the elements of the ground), but also confusion, i.e. man was taken out of his confused state and given the laws and order. breath The spirit, knowledge, wisdom and understanding (Wisdom 7:24-28, Ezekiel 37).

Note, the scripture says eastward in Eden. Eden (עדן (idan), paradise) is referring to the whole earth.

The trees are metaphorical (Revelation 22:1-2). They refer to the formation of the heavens, the stars, etc. E.g. Issachar was well-versed in studying the stars (1 Chronicles 12:32). The tree of life represents the knowledge of righteousness, whereas the tree of knowledge of good and evil represents both good and evil (Sirach 17:7).
